How long will immunity last after taking both doses of Corona virus / Corona vaccine? Research reveals

Corona cases increase in the last 24 hours in the country

2 lakh 82 thousand 970 new cases were registered

441 people lost their lives in 24 hours

How long will your body have immunity if you have been vaccinated against corona? The answer is that in 3 out of 10 people, the effect of immunity from the vaccine is complete only after 6 months. This information has come to light in a research that has taken place in India. Hyderabad-based AIG Hospital and Asian Healthcare conducted a joint study on the immunosuppressive effects of vaccines. The research involved 1,636 people. These were the people who were given both doses of the vaccine.

The chairman of AIG Hospital, Dr. Nageshwar Reddy said that the purpose of this research was to know the effect of immunity made from vaccine. At the same time it was important to know which population needed a booster dose.

Antibody levels were checked against corona in people, he said. According to which, in people whose antibody level is 15 AU / ml, immunity is lost. Apart from this it is estimated that people with antibody levels of 100 AU / ml still have immunity.

Dr. The level of antibody against corona should be at least 100 AU / ml, Reddy said. If someone has less than this, their risk of getting infected is higher.

What did the research find?

Of the 1,636 people involved in the research, 93 per cent were covyshielded, 6.2 per cent co-vaccinated and less than 1 per cent Sputnik-Vino dose.

- The research found that an estimated 30 percent of people had immunosuppression levels below 100 AU / ml after 6 months.

- Dr. "People over the age of 40 who suffer from serious illnesses like hypertension and diabetes have a weakened immune system," Reddy said. He said that there were 6% who did not have any immunity at all.

- Overall, it has been found that young people have a longer period of immunity than the elderly. Then, in people over 40 years of age who are suffering from a serious illness, the antibody goes down after 6 months.

Why is this research useful?

- Dr. "People with comorbidity above 40 years of age can be given a booster dose after 6 months," Reddy said. He also said that a gap of 9 months between the second dose and the booster dose is benefiting more than 70 per cent of the population within which immunity is being maintained even after 6 months.

However, he also said that about 30 per cent of the people in India are suffering from a serious illness and even after two doses, the antibody is weakening after 6 months. That is why booster doses should be considered.
